Track CJ Conversions from Joomla!
Take control of tracking your conversions on Commission Junction with the CJ SID Plugin for Joomla! 1.5! Tracking conversions has always been a challenge for publishers in affiliate programs. Fortunately, CJ offers a way to collect a little more information through the SID value. What's the SID value? In 2005, CJ introduced the Shopper ID a part of the "Smart Rewards" Program. The initial intent was to allow publishers to record which registered user made a purchase, then reward that shopper accordingly. CJ's SmartRewards brochure for publishers has this to say:
Track the transactions of your site visitors easily with Commission Junctionâ??s SmartRewards. SmartRewards is advanced tracking technology that gives you, the publisher, the ability to quickly establish programs that reward your visitors by providing them loyalty points and other reward incentives.
Hereâ??s how it works. SmartRewards provides you the capability to create a unique record by assigning a SID (Shopper ID) to each registered visitor of your site. You dynamically place the SID into your pay-per-lead or pay-per-sale advertiser link. Then, as the visitor takes action on the linkâ??s resulting site, the SID information is tracked with their transaction in real-time. SmartRewards allows you to then aggregate the individual tracking data to analyze the source of your transactions.
This is also a fantastic opportunity for publishers to track the effectiveness of our links. For example, which specific links are performing the best? Where are the best candidates for improvement or optimization? If you're running ads on four pages on your site, and you're only getting conversions from one of them, why not tune up the other three or change the ad entirely? Using the SID, we can include the source of the conversion, like the specific page title, and adjust accordingly. That's where this CJ SID Plugin for Joomla! 1.5 comes in!

YES, we will be offering Joomla! 1.6 versions of both Pro and Basic once 1.6 is stable. Anyone with a licensed copy of Optimizer Pro will be eligible for a free upgrade to the Joomla! 1.6 version.
Joomla! 1.6 continues to go through many changes, making early development a bit of a challenge. We've already released a beta version of Optimizer Basic for Joomla! 1.6 (available in the Download section of this site). This is a complete rewrite for Joomla! 1.6.
If you do download and test Optimizer Basic for Joomla! 1.6, please post feedback, bugs, etc. in this forum. The documentation for the current Optimizer Basic still applies.

I do have a configuration question, however. When I block and copy the ad link from Commission Junction, my PID is already embedded in the link. Should I then leave your plugin's PID field in parameters blank? If I include my PID in the plugin's PID parameter field, will that mean I'm sending that information twice to CJ?

You'll need to add the PID to the plugin's parameter, even though it's in the CJ block. Without it, the plugin will no add the SID code.
I have installed the plugin WOJ but in google web optimizzed ask me the original page that in joomla is index.php, the second page is index2.php and 3 page whay is?
